Groupthink

  I'm getting my hair cut (FINALLY!) today; it's been about 23 weeks since my last cut, and I normally go about 9 weeks between trims. It's almost down to my shoulders. I found this while searching for "ai cat getting a haircut", and it made me fart laugh; my highest accolade.

  I have one small errand to run today, but otherwise I have no plans. I may do some gardening if the weather permits. How about everybody else?

  Now that my earplugs have arrived, and we're passed the long weekend, I can start to move on things like scheduling a hair cut, and making an appointment to talk to my doc about laser eye surgery. What's everybody else doing?

The forecast says that it will continue rainy for another couple of days, which means no gardening for me, and the garden is in desperate need of weeding, since A) it's been a good season for plants, and B) I've been away for most of the summer. It's looking pretty wild at the back. What's everybody else doing on this first day of September?

  This will be my last day at the cottage for the year, I think. What's everybody else doing?

  Weather permitting, I think I have to start my shopping for the last cottage trip. I'm planning on heading downtown to replace my broken water purifier. I may swing past a department store to see if I can find anything polka dotted; I think they have hair bands, and hair clips. For, ya know ...; I'm fully embracing fandom, or as the band says the fank lob. What's everybody else doing?

 It's supposed to rain all day, and we need it. I did not get my tree planted yesterday, but I did get a hole dug, so I can plant it tomorrow. What's everybody else doing?

I'll be in Prince Edward County (not Island!) today, tomorrow and part of Thursday. There will be much beer imbibed, I'm sure. We'll probably do some antique hunting, What's everybody else doing?

  I have nothing planned for the day, but I'm scoring a free printer! Linda doesn't want to drag her printer along with her when she moves; she'll have access to one at the place where she's volunteering, so she's passing hers on to me. I need a printer to print out my temporary parking permits when I park the rental car in the city. So that's going to come in useful.

  The optometrist's office called me back yesterday, and said that they require people to wear new prescriptions for at least 7 days, to make sure that it's not just a problem with the adjustment period. My experience has been that if the prescription and the fitting are correct, then everything snaps into focus with crystal clarity. At this point, because of the issues with timing (my car rental and trips to the cottage), I'm almost inclined to say "screw it", and look into laser eye surgery in the fall. Rant over.  What's everybody else doing?

  More gardening today; another gorgeous day. A bonus for those who can't make it to any of their shows (I know Al was trying for tickets); Angine de Poitrine, live in France doing "Ababa Hotel", their jazziest piece. They are changing things up for many of the live shows, and the guitarist, Khn is doing more improv on top of the loops. And they have a great relationship with their audiences.

  It's supposed to be another gorgeous day here; sunny and around 72 F. Gardening, maybe. How about everybody else?

  Good morning! It's a beautiful sunny day here, I'm going to pick up my hemmed jeans today.  What's everybody else up to?

  I have a chiropractor appointment this afternoon, and there's a health food store a few doors away from there, so I can pick up some specialty items. It's supposed to get really hot this afternoon, up to 29 C or over 84 F.  How's everybody else?

  I got a lot done in the garden yesterday; most of the weeds got pulled, and depending on how sore I am today, I may start building some raised beds out of the bricks that I have. And plant my eastern redbud tree.  How's everybody else's gardens doing?
