  Good morning, groupthink! It's an awful happy one here because Pal got the job. Woo! We're both over the moon & thank you for the kind words & good vibes. And that's all I've got this morning, lol. We've been pretty laser focused.  How's your Wednesday shaping up?

  My next door neighbour adopted a green cheeked conure from the humane society, and I went down with her to pick it up (and looked at the dogs; there were no candidates). What a beautiful bird! And already very social; even being in an unfamiliar place with the dogs barking and a couple of strange people she (or he; we don't know which), was grooming its feathers and chirping at us. When I leaned in close to the cage, it came right over to get a closer look, and when I left, there were some chuckling prrts as I walked away.

 Hello again Monday!   We'll be cleaning up some snow here. After that I'll be making some oatmeal cookies and maybe some sandwich bread.   It looks like I may well be able to make a trip home for a bit and then come back in March.  I would be so frickin happy to get out of here for a while!   What's going on with you?

  Good morning, GT. Happy Sunday! Yesterday it was 78 degrees out and today is going to be the same. Not my ideal temps for January, but now I can give Cosmo a bath and not feel bad about him being cold. He’s been smelling a bit musky and the waterless shampoo is not cutting it right now.  But first, I’ll be out and about with the family today. We are grabbing an early lunch at one of my grandmas favorite spots, and afterwards we are taking flowers to the cemetery. Since it’s going to be a warm day I’ll probably pick us up some frosty’s from Wendy’s afterwards. Should be a nice outing. Maybe Cosmo will luck out and I’ll be too lazy to give him a bath when I get home.  Anyway, enough about my day. How are y’all doing? Any plans for the day?

  Happy Saturday night, friends! Pal gamed this afternoon while I inspected the couch to make sure it's nice & comfy, lol. It is--passed with flying colors for both reading & napping. Soon, it will be pizza & movie time. Clearly, we've been super productive today. ;) Nothing else exciting to report except the batch of peanut butter cookies I'm envisioning for later. How about you?

  Good morning, GT, and happy weekend <3 I know it's not quite Feb. which, for me, feels like the actual depths of winter. But golldang, with all the rain and snow and wind and cold we've had lately, it has surely felt like the depths 'round here. It's the time of year to remind yourself, spring is near!  Until then... what's up with you this weekend? Today, I need to work for a few hours and hit the grocery store. Tomorrow, my besties are coming over and we are baking for a nearby women's shelter. Then, Homey and I have errands, dinner reservations, and tickets to a comedy show. Busy-busy. How about you ?

  Happy Friday, friends! A lot has been happening around here & I'm excited to have a little down time. We're pretty plan free & looking forward to it. Plus, Pal has another (!) interview on Monday. My bookmarks are full of crazy, awful Confederate/Republican stuff, but I'll just say a special fuck you to Alabama & leave it at that. Oh, and Texas--a big one for you, too. My personal fuck it is for sneaky ice patches. Whoops. We can laugh about it now, but I did not enjoy my ditch experience, lol. Grab some tissues bc this one is sweet & sad. It's such an amazing tribute & a really lovely idea. Good boy. 🌈❤️😭 This is Max. He had a favorite step that he loved napping on so much it wore away the paint.   Morno, GT--how's your week going? Last week was short, due to MLK day and a snow day, so this week already feels long. I thought yesterday was Th. 😭  What are y'all up to today?  I'm up early, so I'm watching last night's RHOSLC, which I'm so excited for. After that, I'll do my yoga and head into work. My dad's having a small surgery but does have to stay in the hospital overnight for observation, so Homey and I will visit with him after work. I'm thinking of grabbing him a vegan hot chocolate on the way.  How about y'all? How's your Wed.? (Al, sorry if I'm stepping on your toes doing a Wed. post! I was up early and thought it might help 💚--sorry if you had something planned!)

  Another grey day, although it's warming up a bit, and then more rain later in the week. No plans for the day, but I could putter, if I feel like it. How about you?

 Hey there Monday!  I'm pre-posting again because I'll be off to the city for some heart testing.  It's warming up a little and the Lions won their game so maybe things are looking up. After my tests I'm hitting the grocery store and maybe starting my baking.  What's going on with you?

  Morning, GT. Happy Sunday.  It’s cold and rainy here and I’m enjoying it. Cosmo and I have been cuddled up next to the fireplace most of the weekend and I LOVE it. We needed a good rain and an excuse to stay home and do nothing.  How is everybody doing today? Are y'all staying warm and toasty? Any fun plans for the day?

  Good evening, groupthink! I almost forgot it was Saturday--the days are running together here in Tennessee. We're hanging out by the fire with football. Chocolate chip cookie dough is resting in the fridge, & that's all the news there is.  Oh, & I might make popcorn later once Pal heads upstairs for video games. I'm going to need a lot of hikes after being snowed in. 😂 How's your night going? 

  Morning, GT--welcome to the weekend! It's another cold-cold weekend here, so I'm hoping to stay in as much as possible. I will run to the store this morning, before traffic gets too crazy, to grab stuff to make potato soup and mushroom ravioli this weekend (not for the same meal but, man, we need some carbs and cream this weekend!).  Tomorrow, Bestie and I are going out for the best cinnamon rolls in town--def. worth going outside for. Otherwise, I think I might try to read a bunch this weekend. Bed, blankies, books, Buster? Not a bad way to spend some time.  How about you?

 Can you believe it's Friday already?  I think the MLK holiday made the week feel shorter.   Anyhoo--- on to the Fucks Fuck the cold. Or maybe just fuck the mess the snow, ice and rain makes. I'm struggling with walking the minefield of the refreeze ice patches that pop up out of nowhere.  I am sure that I will end up on my butt at some point.   And fuck that ghoul Haley.  I am so very sick of seeing her face every other commercial.  Enough already.  I've got some business to take care of today and the weekend is looking a bit busy.   Good morning! More snow is happening! Or sleet. Tbd. We're staying in today while the weather turns our snow into ice & will probably be here all weekend. This is quite a few days a stuck at home! The kitchen got deep cleaned yesterday & today I'm making smothered cabbage & probably baking more cookies. It's hibernating season, lol.   Good morning! My phone & internet are being weird today, so here's a snowy day photo again instead of the usual, lol. It's more of the same for me, but poor Pal was able to go into work using my car. Stay safe, Pal. It is frigid outside, but warming up a little later. I plan on reading & cooking stuff.  I'm pre-posting because it's 12:30 am and I am wide awake.  I completely borked my schedule by having a family stay in bed day.   Even Finn was on board so it was cozy and nice.     Unless something unexpected happens, I have no appointments this week.  I'll go to mom's and drop some stuff off. Other than that I'm staying in and avoiding the cold as best I can.   It's MLK day and I'll be doing some reading and some thinking. It's not exactly Day of Service worthy but it's what I've got for now.   How's your day and week shaping up?

Whoops.  Anyway, I woke up early and ran a few errands but now I'm back home cuddled up under the blankets because it is chilly.   Good morning, GT, happy weekend! The snow is finally done here, at least for the foreseeable future--now it's a matter of digging out and dealing with the wind blowing it around. I think today will be another indoor day for me.   I have a few threads to tie up for my online classes, which I'd like to get done today (I'm finding I'm only able to focus for 60 - 90 minutes right now so it's bit by bit). We also haven't taken down our Christmas tree yet; usually, we do that 1/1 but it's been cheering me up to keep it up so, here we are. But I know it's driving Homey nuts. I did suggest putting Valentine's Day presents under it but got a stern look at that suggestion, lol. Anyway! How about you? What are you up to this weekend? I hope everyone is safe and warm!  

 Welcome to Friday folks. Buckle up for this one-- FUCK the POLICE.  (ooh that's catchy...) Last night while watching tv, the house was rattled by an explosion in the distance.  Then another, then another.  I am familiar with fireworks and gunfire.  This was neither.  It was... percussive?  I felt it as much as I heard it.  I went outside to investigate and saw nothing.  I simultaneously thought it was WW 3 and perhaps a gas main or tanker truck.  The kiddos next door were freaked out.   And SIL with gun violence PTSD was legit in a ball on the couch. Turns out that the police were blowing up some "expired ordinance" at the gun club across the woods from us.  WTF.   Like why the fuck do suburban cops even have that stuff?  And why was there no PSA prior?  We get a notification when they flush the fucking fire hydrants but nothing when they're setting off fucking BOMBS in the middle of the night?  I...

  Morning, GT--happy Th.! I was reading something the other day about romanticizing little moments in our lives, focusing on the small things that bring us joy or comfort. Many people mentioned coffee as their joyful ritual. What are yours?  And what's up with you today? We've got meetings all day today but, happily, I'm running the last one of the day, which means we'll finish early.   Good morning! It's the halfway point & a medium busy day for me. A little prep for the extreme cold first, followed by some errands, & ending with chicken soup.  Happy Monday and hello from winter wonderland.   I hope everyone's weekend went well.  It was pretty low key here. The week ahead is looking similar.  I have no appointments and IDK what I will do with myself lol.  In random family weirdness, my BIL mentioned that he does not use toothpaste, ever.  Just a tooth brush and listerine has kept his mouth and teeth healthy for years.  Anyway, how's your Monday looking?

  Good morning, GT. Happy Sunday!  I knocked out early last night and ended up waking up at 4am. I don’t love being up so early but I can’t be mad about it because I slept very well. I think I’ll take advantage of the early start and go grocery shopping and to get gas. It’s nice to get those things done nice and early when there are very few other people around.  Anywho, how is everyone doing today? Any fun plans for this chilly Sunday? I’ll be out and about with my family most of today so I won’t be around much. I hope y’all have an excellent day.

 Welcome to the first FIF of 2024.  How's the year treating you so far? My first fuck it today is a big one.  Fuck my mom.  (Yep, I said it)  Mom is a big face book and phone call gossiper.  If someone gets sick, dies, whatever the tragedy- she is all over it.  She just HAS TO talk about it.  Like, she gets a charge out of it.  I don't get it. And I've never liked Facebook.  When I first got sick I made it clear to her that my illness is private and not for discussion. And most of all it is not for Facebook posting.   Well, guess who went ahead shared my details on Facebook with relatives I have  no relationship with?  And she did it shortly after I was diagnosed, when the boundary was fresh.  Being the parent of a cancer patient, I have been super sympathetic with the position my  parents are in. I have been so deliberate in my honesty and so careful to minimize my own suffering.  I'm so bummed th...

  Good morning! It's an exciting day here. Pal's band is playing tonight! Their album is ready & tonight's the celebration. I'm going & it's going to be fun, but a late, late night. First, I'm meeting my uncle for lunch before he flies South for winter. That means I have to run, but will check back this afternoon.  How's your day going?

  Everyone recovered from the holidays? We had snow overnight on New Year's Eve, so it looks like winter might finally be here.

  Happy Monday and Happy New Year!  I hope your NYE was lovely and I'm wishing us all the best in 2024.   What's going on today?  I am putting my January calendar together.  This includes a gyno appt this week and the oncologist next week.   I'd like to get rid of some old stuff around here soon as well.  I like the idea of symbolically starting of a little less cluttered.  Anyone have New Year's resolutions or goals?
