  Good morning, GT. Happy Sunday!  I woke up feeling pretty good this morning and I attribute that to getting over 9 hours of sleep. I haven't slept that much in quite awhile and it feels pretty good. Hopefully I can keep that up.  On another note, It's Halloween Eve and I haven't watched enough spooky movies this month. I think when I get home this afternoon I'm going to watch some spooky/Halloween-ish movies. Beetlejuice, Hocus Pocus, Sleepy Hollow, The Craft, etc. That'll help get me in the spirit of Halloween. Is anyone else watching any Halloween/spooky/scary movies? What are some of y'alls favorites to watch?  Anyway, I'm going to head out this morning to take some flowers to the cemetery, pick out some paint colors, and go see Tar.   Which got me thinking, have you ever had a "weird" experience that you don't care if anyone believes you or not, because you know what you saw.  One of mine is back in my college days I was driving south on route 9 in New York. If you're unfamiliar, route 9 weaves along the Hudson river, but in the Poughkeepsie area, there are long straight stretches of road with no overpasses, so it can be used as an emergency landing runway for airplanes, and has been used that way at least once that I know of.  Anyway, I was driving along, and I saw a plane in the sky, kind of low, but I didn't think too much of it. As I got closer, I noticed I was getting closer, but the plane wasn't moving. It seemed to be suspended in one spot in the sky. I remembered the emergency runway fact, and was a little worried, but figured there would be cops and firefighters everywhere if it was an emergency situation.  I hope no one minds, I just didn't want to completely take over the usual post for day, and I wanted to share and show off some pictures. This passes for a tree in Iceland. There's a joke, if you ever get lost in an Icelandic forest, just stand up. I don't remember exactly how long it took the vikings to deforest the island, maybe 4 years? Gullfoss.  This should get your engines going this morning. Any balletomanes here,other than Rooo? I fell down this rabbit hole looking for footage of the fabled dancer Nijinski of the Ballet Russes circa 1910. He was said have the highest leaps of any male dancer, ever, and even seemed to levitate. Sadly there are only a couple of minutes of footage of this dancer, and it's virtually unwatchable.  One of his most legendary performances was "Afternoon of a faun", which he also choreographed. Based on the paintings on Classical Greek pottery, and incredibly stylized; more like modern dance. I've posted two performances, one by Nikolai Tsiskaridze, with the Ballet Russes who is an amazingly talented dancer, but ... the other performance is by Nureyev with the Joffrey Ballet, who was a force of nature.   Good morning, GT! Happy Sunday! We got a tiny bit of rain last night. Just enough to make things wet and icky, but not enough to actually enjoy it. If it's going to rain, I want it to RAIN.  Today is supposed to be a family day but plans have not been confirmed with my mom and brother. They always want to get together, but my brother is so hard to pin down. Terrible at responding to calls and texts and he's the one who initiated it this time! Oh well. Either way, I'm planning to go see Amsterdam and if they decide to join me that'll be A-OK. We'll also go eat after.  Later today I need to do a bunch of cooking because I have a few Hello Fresh meals that are just sitting in my fridge and my new box comes tomorrow. Whoops. At least I'll have lunches for the week ready.  Anyway, I'm feeling lazy so I'm going to loaf around in bed for a couple more hours before I head out. How are y'all doing today? Good morning, GT--happy Sat.! How are y'all doing? We are getting a heat snap (hey, if there are cold snaps, right?), which will last through to Mon. But I'm still gonna do some fall activities, dang it. Tonight, we're going to an after dark-light up Halloween parade--I'm excited to see what folks come up with! It's near a restaurant we like, so I made reservations for that place, too.  I was supposed to hike with a friend and her kiddos tomorrow but they are all sickies, so she canceled. Homey's working, too, so I'm going to take advantage of my alone time + warm weather and do some work outside.  How about you? Is it oddly warm where you are, or more October-y? Sometimes I have to travel now for work (do not enjoy) and they really enjoy having ridiculously early Friday mornings so I can't post but I will always be back. :)  Anyhoo, are you guys getting ready for Halloween?   Good morning, groupthink! It's still not Friday, but we're getting there eventually. Today is another sunny, cold day & I'm hopping in the shower soon to fetch soup supplies. Tonight will be a creamy chicken & mushroom number with tons of fresh herbs & crusty bread. Maybe an apple & kale salad with candied pecans too if I don't run out of steam first.  In personal news, I made it through Wednesday without any hassle or scares so that was nice. Hey folks, Happy Wednesday. I don't know how it got to be Wednesday already but here we are. It was a sunny and productive trip to the cranberry patch yesterday. The berries are huge this year! I now have enough to do cranberry sauce for the year and will probably have a few jars left over for gifts. That's a cranberry plant above and here's some shots of the patch- Today is all about switching out my warm weather clothes because I have a closet again! That is a story for another day though. What's going on with y'all?  ETA- I meant to ask about cranberry sauce preferences. Whole berry or jellied?

  Hiya gang!  What's going on today? Some days I am my old self and today seems to be one of those lucky days.  I meant to post earlier but I got sucked down a rabbbit hole.  It started with moving one thing off the windowsill and escalated to a complete kitchen teardown & cleaning.   I would love to redecorate.  I hate my curtains and there's no real theme. Sadly, I have no eye for this stuff. I'm envious of those who do.  Sigh.  At least it will be clean in here. How about y'all? 

  Good morning, GT. Happy Sunday! It is way too early for me to be awake on a Sunday but it is what it is. I had all these plans for what I was going to do today but now that the day is here I've decided to scrap my plans and just loaf all day. Grocery shopping and other chores can wait. I'm just going to watch movies and cuddle with my baby boy Cosmo. On another note, I finally watched Call Me By Your Name and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The beginning of the movie didn't grab my attention and I was so close to turning it off but I decided to stick it out and I'm glad I did. It was enjoyable and worth the watch.  Anyway, I just got hit by a wave of sleepiness so I'm going to try to go back to sleep for a bit. Y'all know what to do. 

  Good evening, groupthink. I was too mad to nap so I took a run for the first time in several years. Ouch. Then, I soaked in the most angry lavender & Epsom salts bath ever. Less ouchy now, but it was the least relaxing bath I've had since I was a grouchy toddler, probably. I'm working with a theme here. :) Finally, I'm about to go do this on my front porch because locking people up, disproportionately Black Americans, for a plant that's legal in most of the country is bullshit. Hopefully, by the time is posted, some Ben Harper (we saw this show 😊) & porch time will finally lead to that nap. In the meantime, the floor is yours. I hope you've had a very nice Saturday. I hope I find it, not least because I really wanna go do that corn maze!  Tonight, we're going to watch the new Halloween and I might make a lasagna. I'm def. making some pumpkin cookies.   Good morning, GT! I can't believe it's only Wednesday. It has been a busy week and your girl is tired. I need the weekend to hurry up and get here. Today is a day full of meetings and I'm trying to amp myself up for it. Not to mention my team lead is going on maternity leave in just over a week and I'm having to start doing the things she usually does. It won't be too much added to my workload, but the transition process and having to notify everyone is not fun.  Anyway, enough about me. How are y'all doing?   Hello, everybody!  It is Tuesday and I wish it was closer to the weekend. I'm tired and I just want to relax. Yesterday was busy and the rest of the week will be the same. I have 10 client assessments to review and approve this month and 9 of them are annual assessments which are so much longer. Yikes!  On a positive note, this is the first full week we've had in months with temperatures below 80 degrees. The forecast for the week tops out at 79 which is so nice to see. I can actually do things outside without feeling sweaty and gross within a few minutes.  Anyway, I'm still sleepy so I'm going to go lay down for a bit before my first meeting of the day. How are y'all doing today? 

 Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian GTers and Happy Monday to all.  I was having internet issues this morning so this is a little late.   We had our ATV tour followed by Turkey dinner in bestie's barn yesterday.  It was lovely.  We rode from the shire, around the river & up into the mountains.  The recent hurricane made it muddy and a bit slow going through some of the terrain.  We had to stop 3 or 4 times and pull out the chainsaws to move downed trees out of our paths.  After one very deep bog, I was soaked from the waist down.  I had mud in places it should not be & it made for a chilly ride home but  it was great- even the terrifying switchback trail down the mountain.     Today I'm cleaning the mud off of everything and resting my sore bones. What's going on with you?

  Good morning, lovely GTer's. Happy Sunday! This morning was another day of waking up way too early so I took Cosmo for a drive around the neighborhood. There have been a lot of changes in my little city over the last few years and it was nice to take the time to actually take it all in. On the way back home I picked up an iced coffee and apple fritter to munch on and while the donut was delicious, the coffee was disappointing. Too strong and too bitter. I couldn't finish it. Side note, apple fritters were my grandpa's favorite donut and at his funeral last year we gave them out in little bags with a message about him. That was the last time I had an apple fritter and eating the donut this morning brought back memories of him. A few tears were shed, but it was nice to remember the good times.  On a lighter note, today is going to be a day of cooking.  Hello all and Happy Friday!  I'm putting up an OT in case TCIW can't get to a Fuck It Friday today.     There's lots going on in the shire today. It's been a busy week in general. Monday is Thanksgiving so there's prep for that. We'll be doing an ATV tour in the mountains followed by dinner. Yahoo!   I got the news yesterday that my scans all looked ok so I get another 2 months off from treatment. Yahoo again! I'm figuring out how to live my life 3 months at a time and it's a good feeling. OK, enough about me.  How's your Friday and your weekend shaping up?

  Good morning, GT! It's Thursday which happens to be my Friday this week. Yippie! I'm looking forward to a 3 day weekend. Last weekend I was on-call and my back was hurting so I didn't really get to enjoy the time off. I'll be sure to enjoy this one.  How is everyone liking this time of year? We are still having slightly warm weather but it cools off significantly during the evenings. I was able to wear a jacket yesterday which I haven't done in months!
