Good morning, y'all--how's your weekend looking? It's been rough here, with ICE and ICE impact on students. I got some faculty together and we're planning a teach in. It's not much but it's what I got. And the nice thing: we've partnered with a couple of student clubs and these students are so smart, driven, community-minded, and angry --they give me hope.
Fuck, I just woke up! Fuck the tricks that winter is playing on us this year. It's been a slog and we're what, halfway through? Stay strong y'all. Hello Friday! How's everyone in the snowpocalypse belt doing? I am hoping to get out on my snowmobile today. Aside from a few hours on a rental last winter, I haven't been out there in a few years. I can't believe it's been that long! I am hoping that I am still capable of handling my machine and that I still enjoy it. I guess that's a fuck maybe. I don't know how much of a chance it has, but I like the continued pushback. Changes big and small are afoot here at casa Phoebe. I like where we're headed with decor and furniture. It's making me happy thinking about moving forward with things. There's a little trepidation there because there is no end to other shoes that drop, but one can't stay static. And sadly, with my water filter not working (again) it's going to turn orange again within a couple of weeks. I should just get black fixtures. Vandy is undefeated so far & it's pretty cool to have my never winning team on top in two sports this year. Pal will be home soon & we have plans to watch the Bears game later. I cannot believe that it is Friday again already. I have to start with fuck ICE. I'm afraid to say that it can't get more surreal than this because we know how that goes. All of my respect and admiration goes to the brave souls out there fighting the good fight- in the street, with their wallets, on their keyboards, in their hearts.
