We are heading right into the second heat wave of this summer and I'm already preparing what we'll eat so that it's tasty, on the light side and preferably doesn't heat up the kitchen too much. I've already started the prep for stuff that is nice to eat cold/at room temp but needs e.g. the oven to get cooked yesterday because we're not going to hit 30°C/85°F before tomorrow. And as basically all of Europe is heading into the same high temps (for their region), I wanted to share some of my favourite things to eat while it's fucking hot and ask what your food strategies are. Because while there is always gelato, I tend to feel sick when I eat sweet things when I'm actually hungry. Not to say I don't eat any - here's the proof - but more as a treat than a meal.
