Good morning, lovely GTers! How are y'all doing today? How has the week been treating you so far? Have y'all been able to keep cool in this terrible summer we are having? It's not even that hot here in SoCal (high 80s) but I'm miserable. I feel terrible for everyone dealing with the heat wave in the PNW. I'm in a very cranky mood this morning and I'm contributing it to the heat, lack of good sleep due to the heat, weird dreams, and general annoyance with extended family. We actually are getting slightly cooler weather here (80s instead of 90s) but, after today, it looks like lots of rain. Homey and I got out for a quick little bike ride this morning, which was great, especially before the Humidity Descends. Today, I'm going to set up my bullet journal for the first time this year (!), which is exciting. I tried a new system for spring term and it just... didn't work for me. And I took June off from planning but realized that led to me spending too much time on screens because, hey, I didn't have anything planned right? 😑 So dumb. Anyway, I am determined not to let July slip by like that, galldangit! And the bujo will help. Is anyone here a bujo-er? Do you have layouts or resources you esp. like? Happy Sunday, everyone! I was awoken at 5am to the sound of Cosmo barking/whining in a way I've never heard before. I was worried something was wrong with him, but he looked totally fine, but a little worked up. After a few minutes of trying to figure out wtf was bugging him, I heard it. One of my neighbors decided to bring home a rooster. Cosmo has never heard a rooster before so the first few times hearing it freaked him out. We were both to worked up to go back to sleep so I decided to take advantage of the early morning and took Cosmo for a drive to get iced coffee and some yummy bagels. It was a nice. The rest of my day is going to be spent putting furniture back into the spare room/office and organizing books. The bookcases were very easy to put together but it was hot yesterday so I didn't do much after setting them up. How are y'all doing today? What's on your agenda?
Good morning, GT, and happy Sat.! We are meant to get rain, rain, rain today which is a-ok with me. The farmers need it, my yard needs it, and honestly? I love a lazy, rainy day. We just got back from our trip to Door County yesterday so a day of loving being home sounds pretty great. We did a pretty good cleaning of the house before we left so, while I could do some deep cleaning, I could also... not. :D So, a grocery run is in order and then probably some reading. Tomorrow can be for grown up stuff. ;) How about y'all? What's up with you this weekend? Anything fun planned?

Happy Friday, ya'll! How are you doing this fine morning? Does your face feel like it's melting off yet like mine down here in South Florida? Do you have armpit sweat pancakes on your shirts wherever you go? Do you ever wonder how the insides of your car haven't melted when you get into it? We do though have a devastating collapse that happened close to me and the local news are doing a really great job sharing photos of the missing non-stop. It is just horrific how just half of the building just fell around 2am and so, so many are missing right now. First responders are in the garage underneath the other building, chipping away trying to form tunnels to find people. There are still no indications of what caused the collapse and there may not be a clear answer for weeks they say since the building was not that old and Miami has extremely strict building inspections due to the hurricanes we face yearly. How are you guys doing?
Did yall have Thirsty Thursday in college or in your 20s? aka just a fun alliterative excuse for people to pretend it was normal to get very drunk on Thursday nights? I did not partake in this tradition because, well, it always seemed dumb and as an introvert I really resented people adding another night in which I was supposed to go out and do things haha. We're halfway to the weekend folks. Here in the shire I'm relentlessly refreshing my email and checking the news to see if I can get my second vaccine dose. It is not looking promising. In other Atlantic Canada news a group of angry folks have blocked the routes between New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in protest of Covid restrictions. They're yelling about vaccines being poison too which tells me all I need to know. Get a bulldozer and open the road FFS. The hospital had to go to esssential services only because the staff couldn't get through. Tensions are heating up. Just watched the first 18-wheeler of the day pass through. Yesterday, we met Pal's parents for lunch. It was fun but the best part was my niece & nephews were at their house so I got to hang with them at the same time--a very rare occurrence for 3 teens! For the first time ever, I get to say, happy federal holiday , Juneteenth! And, listen, I know this is largely symbolic and we have a TON of work to do (I'm looking at voting rights, anti-lynching bills, the movement by politicians to force teachers to lie to their students about any history that might make white people feel kinda icky 🙄) but symbols matter and Juneteenth becoming a federal holiday matters. So, Happy Juneteenth! Sadly, we will be spending most of today cleaning as, tomorrow, we're heading up to Door county for a few days, so no celebration (at least, outside of the house) for us today. I am very much looking forward to getting out of town, though!! Does anyone here have any Door county recs? We're looking to hike, swim, eat some good food. How about y'all? How are you celebrating? G'morning peeps! How has your week been? My fuck it today has to be the massive pick-up trucks on the highway that have to add ridiculous lift kits to them, ride your ass in both the fast/slow lanes because they have a need to go 40 MPH past the speed limit. Oh and they add those ridiculous long fluorescent light bars that blind you at night. Not even sure how that is legal. I've encountered two this week. Arghhh. How has your week been? Weekend plans?
Good morning, GT, and happy Wed.! I woke up to temps in the low 60s, so immediately threw open all the windows and jacked the ceiling fans all the way up. It's supposed to hit the mid 80s here today, so not nearly as bad as it has been. Once my iPod is charged (yes, I still have an iPod, leave me alone! ;), the plan is to go for a walk, then do a bunch of yard work before the sun gets too high. I might even use the stove tonight!
