 Good morning and Happy Wednesday.  Summer's here and it seems we're all shifting gears to some extent.  I'm looking at my visitors calendar and damn, it's getting filled up.  It's ok to hope that my sisters and mom will skip a visit this year right?   Here's  a question/rant-  Is it ok to let your dogs bark and bark at someone?  The folks behind us have 2 goldens and a yorkie.  They've been running to the fence & barking at Finn since he was a pup.  Every fucking time we're all out there, for the whole time we're out there.  It started out as NBD. Then it got annoying.  Today I had an impulse to throw rocks at all of them.  (dogs and oblivious owner)  Finn does not like to poop when they're out there either so that's a pain. And also, isn't it just manners?  I know that they're in "their yard" but FFS.  Anyway, I leave it to you.   I'm gonna finish my coffee and play video games before I ...

Good morning, GT. Happy Sunday!  Don't y'all just love the Sunday before a Monday holiday? It just hits different when you know you have one more day of not having to go to work or even start thinking about it yet. So nice. I wish we had more Monday holidays.  Anyway, the burn on my finger is feeling much better but is still a little tender. I did brand myself so there is a small little mark on my finger pad. Hopefully it won't scar, but if it does I’ll have a new distinct mark on my fingerprints to look forward too.  Ok, enough from me. How is everyone doing today? Any fun plans for this lovely Sunday?

I'm happy to report we were outside for all of 15 minutes before we called an end to the yardwork. 😂 Couch loafing is so much more fun, plus there aren't any cicadas indoors.     Heyo, friends! Happy long weekend to the Americans here. What are you all up to this weekend?  Today's the first big farmer's market of the season here, so I'm stoked for that. I'm meeting with my mom and one of my besties for that; I'm hoping to find peonies, some yummy baked goods, and some good coffee. The storms have beaten down a bunch of peonies here, but 🤞.   Good morning, friends! It has been a busy week & today is the first day I don't have much to do or people to see. Time to recharge is a necessary thing. I'm picking up groceries soon & chilling today. Pal's mom, bless her, texted so early to tell us about fighting the city to keep their backyard a meadow.     Morning, GT, how are ya? We had big storms last night, but today is going to be gorgeous (sunny and low 70s).  Today is, as Homey called it, Super Auntie Honey day. I'm going for a walk with my bestie, then meeting my SIL and the baby nibs at a nearby park where they have a farm animal petting zoo. Then, this afternoon, Homey and I are meeting the elder nibs for ice cream. :)  I'm looking forward to all of it! How about you? What are you up to today?

  It's muggy, hot and rainy here for the next few days; I need to pick up some cornstarch, which I use as an environmentally friendly alternative to talcum powder.

 Happy Monday!  I hope that it was a good weekend for everyone! I am picking away at making enough dog food to get us through our first week or so in the shire. I'm about half way there.  It's a little thing but I'm taking my victories where I can get them.   My agenda today includes the grocery store and taking Mr's aunt to the doctor.  I have no idea what's for dinner tonight.  I'm hoping to find some inspiration at the grocery. How's your day and week shaping up?  

  Good morning, GT. Happy Sunday! I knocked out super early last night so I’ve been awake since about 3am. The sleepiness is settling back in so I think I’m going to try to go back to sleep after I post this.  How is everyone doing this weekend? Any fun plans for the day? I’m sticking around the house today and will be enjoying some much needed downtime and self care. I’m going to paint my nails, do a face mask and maybe even a hair mask. I also bought a new salt scrub that I'm dying to try so maybe I'll give that a go today too. I need some pampering.  Ok, enough from me. How are y'all doing?

I'm having some hot coffee this morning, not the cold brew I'd originally planned. :) Today is (hopefully) my last day of work for a good chunk. I am going in to wrap up some end-of-year reports and to have a committee "retreat" (aka, sitting in a room and meeting for 4 hours?! not sure how that's a retreat, lol). But tonight, I have a friend coming over to watch a live podcast, and I'm really looking forward to that! She's also bringing falafel--yummmmmm! How about you? What are you up to today?

  Since my package free store is closing, they aren't stocking things like bread anymore, and all the bakeries were closed yesterday, and my last hope (the pharmacy/grocery store) was closed because of IT issues (I wanted bakery sourdough bread, anyway, not commercial drek), so I'll be going out and doing the same errands again today.

  Good morning, GT. Happy Sunday, and happy Mother's Day to everyone who is celebrating. Something came up with my brother so Mother's Day plans have changed and I will not be getting to see my mom this weekend. Womp womp. Instead I'll be taking my grandma to one of my aunts houses and we'll have a BBQ there. It's going to be in the high 70s so it's the perfect weather to spend outside.  It is a bit of a bummer that I won't be able to see my mom today, but her birthday is next weekend so I'll see her then. I can't wait to give her all the goodies I bought her. She's been on a skincare/make-up kick lately and I bought her a bunch of stuff from Sephora. She's going to be thrilled.  Anyway, enough about me and my momma. How is everyone doing today? How will you be spending this Sunday? I know Mother's Day can be a difficult holiday for many so I hope you are all taking care of yourselves and are finding time for self care.

The company that makes mine went under, so I'm on the hunt.  The rest of my week is wrapping up grading. We're set to have some good weather today, so I'll sit outside to grade for as long as I can.  Buster already had some catio time this morning and he saw a possum! That was a lot of excitement for a little guy. :) As soon as the possum was out of sight, Buster was like, "Lemme in, lemme in, lemme in!" How about you? Are you getting some good, late spring weather? And what are you up to, midweek?

 Happy Monday and Happy month of May.  What's doing with you today? Now that the cold is mostly behind us, what do y'all have planned for the warmer weather?  Are you growing or sprucing up anything?  And are there any good activities you're thinking about?   I might do a couple of patio tomatoes but aside from that, my garden days are behind me for now I think.  I also may try a trip to Newfoundland if we can time it right. Mostly though, I'm just thinking about how good it will be to get home.   

  Good morning, GT! Happy Cinco de Mayo! With everything that's been going on I didn't even realize this weekend is Cinco de Mayo. My family usually does a little BBQ but everyone has all kinds of shit going on so it has slipped everyone's mind. I only realized it when I went to get gas this morning and noticed the city was closing some streets for the usual celebrations. Maybe I'll head to the market in a bit to pick up something yummy to grill. Fingers crossed my neighbor sticks to her yearly tradition of making Capirotada and gives me a bit.   Morning, y'all! Sorry for the later post; I ended up staying up too late, talking on the phone with a friend from college. We accidentally had a four hour convo and, while it was really nice, I'm so tired this morning!   So, first matter of business: coffee. Then I think Homey and I are going to run some errands and hopefully get a walk in (if the rain misses us). Otherwise, this weekend is about grading for me--I wrap up two courses on Mon., so it's time to kick it into gear.  How about you?

And Friday rolls around again.  Here we go.  Fuck red tape.  My new insurance will not allow 90 day refills on my maintenance meds. Mornin', y'all--how's your week so far?  Get ready for a kvetch: We're heading into finals week, so it's officially Student Meltdown Season. One of my coworkers had a student plagiarize on at least 2 assignments, then tell my coworker to go fuck herself for... noticing that she'd plagiarized??? Another coworker was blamed by a student for the student's copying one half of their paper from a classmate, and the other half from AI. Apparently it's second co-worker's fault as the student "didn't know" that they'd plagiarized. Sorry, WHAT?!?!?!?! You didn't know that you'd copied and pasted your whole paper?!?! And I had a student give me a huge guilt trip because they haven't turned anything in in since February(!!!!) and they are shocked they are failing. I got a big sob story and then a, Well, I guess I have to respect your decision. Bitch, what? This isn't my decision. This is the consequence of a hundred decisions ...
