Groupthink

Let's talk about inviting new members.    Our last round of invites was developed on the fly.  Some things worked well and some things need streamlining. One thing that was clunky was presenting names to the group.  At our previous home, authorship invite posts were put up and folks could comment/put a name forward. Then people liked the comments of folks they supported and if needed, emailed a mod separately to express any concerns. This framework might work well for new commenter invites as well.  We will also need to firm up our community rules so that commenters have clear guidelines on acceptable behaviour to mitigate any potential issues.  We'll likely be putting up a post for input on that down the road.  In the mean time, I encourage all to use the tools available to you (flagging, muting/blocking a commenter, emailing a mod) for any issues you encounter. *For the record, this image has nothing to do with my post but it makes me laugh & was easy to access.  We're almost there! Welcome to the final day of this dumpster fire of a year. My day has started off with some annoying stuff. Like the flat tire I have because they used my old valve stems when I bought new tires last month. That's why I needed new tires, dummies! Pal's leaving work (after approximately 10 minutes, lol) to pick up our grocery order. The silver lining is an extra day off for him so maybe I should be grateful for the tire issue.  All of the celebrations are canceled here. Including the "surprise" fireworks Nashville had planned. Good call! We're going to drink champagne & eat french onion soup while we try to stay awake long enough to see this year end. What are your plans? How's it going?

Hello everyone! I hope this day is finding you well and in good spirits.   Over the last couple days I’ve noticed a few people asking about some of our old GT weekly posts like GroupDrink, Fuck it Friday, and SNAS. I was wondering what everyones ideas are for keeping those posts going? I’m not sure if the original hosts are planning to keep them going, or if we’d like to have someone else take those over or even come up with some new weekly traditions.   What are y’alls ideas? Are there any posts you’d like to see? Are there any you’d like to host? Please share your thoughts and ideas! P.S. Please know that I will likely be responding to your brilliant ideas and thoughts with lots of gifs today.
