  Happy New Year's Eve, GT--what do you all have planned for the last weekend of 2022?  Homey and I are going out for a romantic dinner tonight, then will celebrate the rest of the night at home (probably by falling asleep by 10:30 😂). Tomorrow, one of my besties and I have plans to do some reflective writing about 2022 and goal setting for 2023.   Good morning, y'all... it's the middle of that weird, last week of the year, when I always feel like I'm floating through time and space... you, too?  What are you up to today? I'm finally starting to feel better, so I need to run some errands--a quick drop off at the post office, a stop off at a hardware store to pick up some insulation stuff for our doors, and the grabbing of a fancy coffee.  I reckon I'll be good and worn out by the time all that's through, so I'm hoping to read and nap this afternoon. Tonight, I'm making creamy potato soup. My bestie is having a hysterectomy today, so I'll swing some of that soup by for her, once she's up to having company. How about you? Are you floating along this week? Whatcha got planned for the day?

  Good morning, everyone. Happy Monday!  How is everyone feeling now that Christmas is over?  I feel relieved. While I enjoy the holiday, it is exhausting. I went to bed at 6pm yesterday for crying out loud. I'm glad I have the day off today to recoup.  Do y'all have the day off? If so, what's on your agenda? If you're working, I hope you get some time to relax and do some self-care.  I was supposed to have another day of socializing ahead of me but those plans have been cancelled and I'm not even mad about it. I'm tired and a day of lazing around sounds pretty good right now.  Anyway, y'all know what to do with an OT. Take it away!

  Good morning and Merry Christmas (to those who celebrate)! I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend and you are enjoying the holiday weekend in whatever way makes you happiest.  For those of you who are celebrating Christmas, how are you celebrating? Yesterday I did the bigger family stuff, and today will be dinner with my parents, grandma and maybe my brother. We’ll open gifts after eating. I’m debating if I should go see a movie before everyone comes over to eat. If I don’t, it’ll just be a morning of lazing around which also sounds pretty appealing at the moment. Tomorrow I have another family thing to go to but that ones at a restaurant so no cooking will be done on my part.  How about y’all? What will your day look like? No matter what you are doing, I hope you are all taking some time to do something you love and are practicing some self-care.

  Good morning and merry Christmas Eve, whether you celebrate the holiday religiously, culturally, or not at all. :) I hope you're having a great day and have some fun (and safe and warm!) weekend plans!  I am still sick but I'm going to try to take my mind off of that by doing some cooking (vegan refried beans, minestrone, and compost cookies on the docket) and listening to some Christmas music. We're on our own tomorrow since just about everyone is sick. But I'm looking forward to staying in our matching Christmas PJs, snacking, cuddling, and watching some movies with Homey. 'Tis the Season, homies! We're almost there!  Ummm, so my FIF list is so extensive for the holidays it would take me a literal hour to list them out here. So I'll just add the highlights. You know how the week before Christmas, you sometimes feel like you are getting shit done left and right would help? NOPE! Why? Because then more shit just gets added on that didn't need to get added on.  Throw in the phenomenally bad traffic and drivers who are all on their phones, swerving all over the turnpike. Sprinkle in a Type A coworker who adds more work to our team that is just literally not needed because she's just freaking out about time off not working (It's good for you, lady. Try it).  Tack on an ex I have pathetically given attention to for years finally just ghosting me again leading me to think yep, it's time to just let him go. (So many bad dates contributes to that not-smart behavior of bad ex communication from loneliness at times thinking it just will ...

It's the best time of year for eating, cooking, & grazing so let's have a food thread! We have a huge haul of snacks & booze & soon some cozy chicken soup. Our plans tonight are eating lots of it, along with some of our treats, & topping it off with egg nog. Friday is baking a chocolate layer cake for Pal's family feast & definitely some more cookies. I'm thinking snickerdoodles & peanut butter. :) We're grabbing Chinese food on Christmas Eve & I think that covers our plans. Can't wait! I'll try to pop back in later, but y'all know what to do. The tired nurse tells her they are at capacity for walk-ins and they will be working overtime already past closing. So brat-biatch still gives her attitude and huffs finally and as she pushes the door open to leave, a very elderly woman with a walker is slowly approaching the door. Happy Thursday! On this day in history, The Bill of Rights was adopted to the US Constitution in 1791. Today is also Emperor Nero's birthday and the 82nd anniversary of the premiere of Gone with the Wind. Our snow is mostly cleaned up. In the end it was about 10 inches total so it took most of the day to get all the paths and lane cleared. I will try to venture out and hopefully get some holiday stuff off my list.   Good morning, GT. Happy Sunday! I was awoken this morning by the wonderful sound of rain and it has put me in the best mood. It's supposed to rain most of the day and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. I love when it rains on weekends and I can actually enjoy it without the distraction of work. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that today will be nothing but lounging around and reading. Oh, I also need to do my nails since they are a chipped disgrace at the moment.   Good Friday all! How has your week been?  I had an especially long week because of a giant head cold I had to fly with to visit a friend. When I got there, she also had a bad cold so we were home-bound with lots of Kleenex and blankets not able to enjoy each other completely so we kind of were zombies trying to just feel better.  This cold is also taking it's sweet, sweet time leaving my head. My sinuses are really pissed at me, and the cotton-fog feel doesn't want to go away. I have a swim in the ocean on Sunday and I truly believe ocean water is good for sinuses so I'm hoping it will flush a lot out.  How have you guys been?  Oh we also sat on the couch watching the whole Kanye/Trump dinner fiasco and what in the fresh hell is wrong with both of them?! We celebrated Pal's parents' birthday yesterday & Pal & his brother pulled it off. We had smoked brisket & pork butt for a nice lunch & my in laws loved their gifts.   Good morning, GT! Happy Sunday! Today is the first day in over a week that I've woken up before 7am. I've missed the silence of early mornings, but sleeping until 7am/8am was also pretty nice. We'll see what my body decides to stick with in the coming days.  On another note, for the last two days I've woken up with a bit of congestion in my throat/chest and I'm keeping my finger's crossed it doesn't turn into something more. It usually goes away after a couple hours but I've been taking medicine just in case. I have two holiday things to go to this week and I'm on-call, so it would be a bad time to get sick. We'll see what happens.  Anyway, enough about me. How are y'all doing today?
