  Happy Saturday night, groupthink! Apologies for the lateness--a shower had to happen before I could type, lol. It was a fun afternoon with music & friends, but the sun came out & made everything so muggy. Gross! I'm all socialized & ready to throw on a movie, snack & relax. Oh, my college football team, Vanderbilt, actually won today in overtime & I'm so proud! It's quite a rare thing & must be noted. 😂  How about you? Tell us all about it!

  Happy weekend, and happy long weekend to the Americans! I had a good first week back to work but, OMG, the exhaustion. My plan for today is to get a massage and make some kinda something yummy for dinner. How about you? Are you doing anything fun for the long weekend?

 Hello all! Happy Friday and thank you for the kind b-day wishes the other day.   I had a lovely dinner complete with the comedy of bestie bringing a couple of cousins. I was seated next to the anti-vax, anti immigrant half of the team.  I love Mr for understanding my body language and requesting a seat switch so that we could share our entrees.  Bless that man for saving me-- or maybe her lol.  The night took an evil turn when I accidentally poked myself in the eye.  Hard. Thursday was spent at the Urgent Care.  I now have a patch and meds and one sore irritated eye.  So yeah, fuck all of that.   And as always, fuck them repubs.  What's going on with you?

  Good morning, y'all! It's the last day of 100° temps & the plan is waiting it out until moral & weather improve. 😂 I had to pop out yesterday for some errands & it was just disgusting. Summer must be angry at all of the fall products being rolled out too soon, lol.  Anything planned for the long weekend? We have plans to catch some music on Saturday, weather depending. We'll see.   Mornin, y'all, and welcome to the mid-week. How are you doing?  As expected, getting out of hours and hours of meetings and actually getting into rooms with my students made life so much better. I've only met with each class once but the students are lively, like they were before COVID. If it can stay like this, this term will be heavenly ! I'm so looking forward to it. The weather is starting to cool off and Homey and I have an Italian-themed cooking class tonight. Looking forward to that, too.  How about you ? What are you up to today?

 Hey folks!  Sorry this is a bit late.  The dog was sleeping across my chest and you know the rule. Everybody needs a bosom for a pillow lol. We spent yesterday here riding out a bug or some kind of food poisoning issue.  I'm hoping that today will be better. My birthday is the week.  I really dislike being asked what I'd like to do.  Like, either offer me something or leave it.  Don't put that on me man. I'm content as is lol.   Good morning, GT. Happy Sunday! It's a nice and cool morning and I'm very much enjoying it. The peace and quiet that comes with an early morning is one of my favorite things in the world. Cosmosis is curled up next to me and these are the moments I love to savor before getting up to start the day.  I will be spending the day at home doing a few chores around the house. I've become sick and tired of having to get on the ground whenever I need to find something in my lower cabinets, so I bought this pull out drawer. I've already installed one and I LOVE it. I ended up buying two more that came yesterday so I'll be installing those today. I also need to pick some more peaches and grapefruits to give to the neighbors. It should be a nice and chill day.  How about y'all? How are you doing today? What will you be getting up to?

 Hello Friday!  How was your week? Yesterday I was finally able to crash after my trip home.  A four hour post lunch nap was just the thing.  Fuck yeah for wine naps!   And fuck yeah to the Dems for bringing this kind of energy!  Has a political convention ever been this engaging?   As for fuck its, fuck traveling back and forth.  I've got to go back to the states next month to get my med refills.  I'm glad that I'm meeting my Canadian primary doc in October and getting stuff set up here but it's not making me feel any better about making that drive again next month.   Fuck the republicans, especially the meanies going after Gus Walz.  That kid has great things in store for him.  How's your Friday looking?

  Good morning! I hope your mornings are starting out hassle free as we head into the weekend & finale of the convention. It's been inspiring to watch! I was impressed with Tim Walz last night & can tell he was an inspiring educator--the kind where you actually look forward to discussing current events. Shout out to Mr. Wendel Hudson! You were the best. Today is the last day of cooler temps for a while & it's been so nice. I even baked a ziti last night. Still haven't made brownies so I'll probably do that while I putter around this afternoon. Can't wait for tonight's DNC speeches. 🍿 How about you? Ready for the weekend?

 Hello there!  I am pre-posting after just getting in from my drive home to the shire.  I am still vibrating & trying to get my land legs back! I'm sorting through a LOT of feelings about being away- missing my spouse but enjoying myself without him, my dad's mortality hitting me and the stuff that my cancer appointments stirs up.  Ain't I just a ray of sunshine?!   This weekend, someone did a crappy parking job next to me.  They were parked so far over their space that my driver side door was blocked.  I was driving our big truck and it is a pain in the ass to park.  I am always mindful about not taking up more than my share of space. I had to do a loop around the whole parking lot to find a space that would work.   Morning, everyone. Happy Sunday!  I had a night of very odd and kinda scary dreams so I'm feeling a bit off this morning. Hopefully a nice shower will help me shake that off. I bought a pull out drawer insert for one of my kitchen cabinets and I need a clear head before I attempt to install it. Not the kind of thing I want to mess up.  Other than that, I have no real plans for the day other than watching WNBA games and maybe doing some cooking.  My god, how is it Friday again?!   I don't have a lot of fuck-its today.  I always keep one around for those repubs though- Fuck yeah to easily accessible, alternative forms of cannabis.  My dad was ready to just let himself die before we got that pain and anxiety under control.   And fuck yeah to my scans and labs looking good again-- another 4 months under my belt.  Now I just need to get home and see my boys.  I cannot wait to sleep in my own bed.  Good morning! We're nearing the weekend & I can't believe August is already halfway over. I ended up extending my lunch to help my uncle do some errands & it was a riot, honestly. He thinks he's boring me, but I actually love it. Riding around with an elder & doing things that could've been emails is very retro in the best way, lol. He is constantly, constantly talking over other people (great practice in social justice spaces, asshole!), focusing on what he has done and others haven't, and trying to get attention from the group, but also other faculty, the students, community members... he keeps talking about the group's "visibility."  Good morning and happy Monday.  Over the weekend, I did the shopping, replaced the leaky shower head, fixed the washer, cleaned the dead critter off the patio and put out the barrels.  Being the dad is no fun.  I will be remaining at my parents' for an undetermined amount of time.   They subtly mentioned today that mom has to go see her new oncologist today?  And they are both being quite vague about how this came about.  So, that appointment should be fun. And on Thursday she is getting all her teeth pulled- surprise!  Dad still isn't even strong enough to shower.  Sigh.   Anyhoo, I'm hoping to get to the farm stand for some corn.   New England corn is the best and Shire corn sucks rocks.   What's going on with you today? 

  Good morning, GT. How are y'all doing today? Any fun plans to close out the weekend?  It's going to be another 90 degree day today so I'll be keeping myself home. I'm up early so I think I'll do a bit of cooking to get it out of the way before the heat kicks in. I should also mop the kitchen and bathroom floors, but we'll see if I actually do that or not.  It's the last day of the Olympics and I can't help but feel a little sad about it. Watching the Olympics these last two weeks has been a joy, and it's been so nice to see so much joy in people excelling at what they do and seeing the support of those who love them. I will say I'm very upset about the Jordan Chiles situation and think it's a really shitty thing to do to her. Having her medal removed because of the judges fuck up is awful.   It's been a hella week y'all.  I have been all over the place.  The good news is that my lung function has improved a fair bit since my last pulmonary function tests.  I've lost 7 pounds and I got through my scans ok.  I'm currently at my parents' house having a sleepover.  Dad had some unexpected surgery today so I'm here keeping an eye on things and being available in case a trip back to the hospital is needed.   Fuck worrying about unclear findings on the scans.  Maybe it's nothing, maybe it's something.  I have a follow up with my doctor next week.  She'll explain things and I am in good hands with her. Fuck fickle weather.  I don't know what to wear when anymore. As for fuck yeahs-  the lung function thing and the energy that the Harris/Walz campaign is bringing.  I am here for it.   How's your Friday looking?  

Happy Thursday! It still feels like Wednesday to me, but it’s nice to be one day closer to the weekend. Nothing too exciting to report here except cooler temps, especially at night.   Happy Saturday night, groupthink! I've had a pretty great day. Pal's "Olympic" practice was near my favorite used bookstore & I had a nice stroll around despite the huge crowd. I picked up Never Whistle at Night, a collection of scary Indigenous short stories & a new (to me) Ruth Ware novel. The rest of the afternoon has been spent watching all the Olympics. Track & field in the rain seems super sketchy, especially for the throwing events. Those athletes were sliding everywhere! It doesn't seem fair. Anyway, I'll leave you to it while I hop in the shower & then collect my tipsy athlete, lol.  What's happening with you?
