I've got some pepper seeds I saved from last year, and some other things I'd like to start indoors on the window sill. I've got big plans to plant more sunflowers too, but that won't happen until mid-May.🌻

Happy Saturday, beautiful folks. How are you doing? I'm very excited because it's finally warm enough to meet with a friend for a walk! We're hoping for 36 degrees and sunshine by the time we hit the path. There's a great little path around an elementary school's play field halfway between our houses. And the path is about 9 feet wide, meaning we just each have to stay on our own side to know we're 6' apart. One thing we've figured out, too, is masking is actually really nice in colder weather! I'm going to start wearing gaiters in the winter when it's really windy because it makes such a difference. I haven't seen this friend in person since probably October. Hey crafty people, has anybody else been taking advantage of the pandemic to make a lot of stuff? I know there are several people with DIY projects in the works, too. If you feel like sharing pictures, bragging about your accomplishments, or anything else crafting related, this is the place for it! After having a couple of big projects on my needles for a long time, I finally have some finished objects I'm excited about. I made this sweater for my husband, who works all day in our cold upstairs and needed something warm to wear. It took so long to finish it's almost spring now, but I'm sure we'll get some cold weather next winter, haha: This one was challenging because it is knit in four pieces and seamed, which is kind of tedious. It seems like a lot of knitting patterns these days are for knitting in the round (little/no seaming required) so I haven't had much opportunity to practice this skill. Happy Saturday, Loveys! Is anyone else expecting snow this weekend? While it seemed just about everyone else in the contiguous U.S. was getting snow this week, we fiiiinally started to warm up (from -12 to +12 but, hey, I'll take it!) and we had almost a full week without snow. Tomorrow, though, marks the return of the snow for us. At least it's set to be warmer; there was a point about 10 days ago when we had icicles inside our microwave, which vents to the outside. Icicles! That's a new one, even for us hardy midwesterners! So. I just went on a flavour journey that went from "Oh, that's good" to "oh, dear God, no" in a single mouthful. Read on for all the gory (metaphorically speaking) details! I was digging around in the back pantry and I found a box mix of coconut and chocolate chip blondies. Kind of a Samoa/Carmel Delights thing. It called for a stick of melted butter, and egg, and a bit of water.
