Good morning! How was your weekend? Last night I realized that my night time routine has gotten to be kind of a thing. It seems like more things have been creeping in to the "necessary" column. Sometimes I enjoy the ritual. Mostly though I'm stacking stuff on the end table so that I can get through some of it while the movie is playing. Face, hair, teeth, feet, meds, lotion... It's going to be a busy week for me. That means getting my ducks in a row today. I'm starting with coffee and cold pizza because, why not? Anyway, how's your week looking?

I don’t know why I love the rain so much, but it makes me very happy when it rains and I find it very relaxing. I wish we got more of it. I have a massage today, and will come home and read, then make enchiladas tonight. Tomorrow, I will grade, visit the baby nibs, and attend a new-to-me book club. Hopefully, it's a good group. Happy Friday! I hope that everyone's week has been bearable thus far. Fuck yeah to technology. My nibling has been accepted for an internship in LA! Arranging housing in LA from her east coast home is making baby sis worry. Cue a 3 way text chain into the wee hours with searches for sublets and info on how not to get scammed lol. IDK if we helped much but the support was definitely appreciated. Mom relied on letters and a bi-weekly long distance call to stay connected to her far away family. I am grateful for better tools. Fuck yeah to impromptu any-old-kind-of-days. Yesterday turned into a movie in bed, lunch out and a walk in the woods with Finn. It is rare that all 3 of us are in the same headspace and yesterday was much needed! And now fuck-its: I am seeing 2028 red hats online? I cannot even... Also, fuck pollen. Why can't it just be its useful self without trying to kill me? Lastly, not really a fuck but...
Morning, y'all, how you doing? Spring is in full swing here--all of a sudden, it's green everywhere and the flowers are blooming. We're getting spring storms and sunshine, there are big ol' bunnies running around my backyard. It's great. Today, for me, will be grading but maybe grading outside, if I can find a dry seat? I have a good chunk to do but no meetings, praise Jeebus! How about you ?
The book sorting continues; I'm sending most of my gardening books out into the world, because I no longer need to plan a shade garden (I have several books on shade gardens), or annuals, or perennials (I'm going with native plants), and I'm reassessing how many different crafts that I'm never going to do. My quilting books are going to one friend, and weaving books to another. How about everybody else? Any purging going on?
Hello folks! I cleaned my oven Sunday night. It's been such an easy chore since I got an oven liner. I pull it out, shake it off then wipe it down. A quick wipe of the door and sides finishes things. It's great. Anyway, it got me thinking about the things in our spaces that make life easier or maybe just bring you a little joy. Even though it's a relatively new purchase, I can't imagine not having that little robot that vacs and washes the floors. It doesn't keep things immaculate but it really helps keep the hair and dirt to a minimum. And Finn doesn't mind it which is more than I can say for the regular vaccuum. I also love my little plants. Just looking at them makes me feel happy. My kalanchoe is looking like a shrub she's so big and healthy right now! I'd love to hear about your favorite little (or big!) things. And how's your week looking?

I’ll be spending the afternoon with my family and we decided to skip the traditional Easter foods and will be grilling instead. Carne ranchera and ribs with be served along side macaroni salad, salsa and grilled asparagus and other veggies. I also bought a carrot cake that I can't wait to dig into. I’m looking forward to it. After everyone goes home I will be indulging in a new cannabis beverage, some edibles and the snacks I picked up. I’m looking forward to a chill and relaxing evening. How are you doing today? It's been a looong week and I'm tired. How's it going for you? I'm starting with fuck its today. Fuck being the architect of my own misfortune. I foolishly ignored a thing out of feeling overburdened. It is now a much bigger thing and I have not magically developed the capacity to easily deal with it. Who could have predicted that?! Fuck the political uncertainty and the architects of all of it. Summer is around the corner and here in the shire, there's story after story of people who aren't coming home for their annual visit. These are documented immigrants with legal status afraid of being disappeared or barred from returning. Last night a couple of friends dropped in for a visit. Good morning, groupthink! I'm home & being lazy & thought I'd fill in for HoneyHeart today. Not much to report since we last spoke, but it's our anniversary. 21 years! The traditional gift is linen, but we're having sushi & watching The Pitt instead. Very romantic stuff. 😂 We'll make up for it next week. Plus, Pal has his annual guys trip this weekend. Hello and Happy Monday! I had a great dinner with mom and dad yesterday. Mom needs wedding outfits as well. I brought my tape measure and got an idea of what sizes to order for her to try. She is UNHAPPY with her bust measurement. We were like, "Yah, we know. Thanks for those genes BTW." Anyway... the kiddos return today so I'll be heading back to the shire tomorrow. Finn is going to be so very happy to see me. I've got to put everything back where it belongs today and pack up so I'll be busy enough. What's going on with you?

Happy Saturday night, friends! I forgot Pal had plans & that means it's a blessedly quiet & solo Saturday night for me. It couldn't come at a better time. One small hiccup was my excellent nap was interrupted by Mother Nature & our weather alarms. We were lucky, no damage, but it was raining so hard & sideways at our front door, the foyer flooded. We've had way too much weather excitement lately. All is well now (and dry). Plans are to choose a movie & make a ton of popcorn & probably a bowl of strawberry ice cream, too. :) How are you?

And there are no rules anymore. Fuck yeahs-- I am looking forward to seeing my kiddos and my grand-puppy. I am looking forward to some time to myself. Solitude is a rare and wonderful thing. And fuck yeah to being in civilization. I will have the opportunity to look for a couple of frocks for wedding-palooza. Morning, y'all--sorry for the late post! Today is my WFH day and I only have a little bit to do (because the next few days will be a torrent of incoming papers), so I told myself I could sleep in. But I didn't think that would actually work! (Not that I'm complaining!) Anyway, how are you? What's up with you today? I'm going be a bum for a couple of hours, then go to a coffee shop to grade and read. Tonight, Homey and I have a meeting with a local activist group, then we're going out to eat at one of my favorite local restaurants which, sadly, is closing next week. :( I'll be happy to get one last order of pepita chorizo tacos, but it's a loss, for sure.

I will be going into town regardless. I'm bundling up and walking quickly! But first, a second cup of coffee. I take coffee cream (similar to U.S. half & half) and 2 sugars. How about you? I've got my work table as level as it's going to get, and stabilised with 3 bricks between it and the top of the cabinet underneath, and it's steadier than it's ever been. So I'm starting to put things back, and playing around with how to arrange shelves and other storage things. The plan is to possibly go wedding guest dress shopping today, or Thursday if today doesn't work out.
